Living Hope was founded by then senior pastor, Mark Kellione, on June 3, 2007. After eight years of adult ministries, evangelizing and pastoring, Pastor Mark began to pray and ask God what the future held for him in January of 2007. After several months of prayer he and his wife Tiffany answered God's clear call to plant a new church in Cynthiana, Kentucky. They began to develop an eight-member launch/leadership team. His vision for Living Hope is that it would be a diverse church where everyone feels welcome and can experience God's love. We continue his vision of seeking to become a church that transforms a community and touches the world.
On June 3, 2007, the journey began. The church began with 20 people in the basement of John & Rae Jean Slusher's home, they all shared a common desire to have a church in Cynthiana that was relevant and making a difference in people's lives. The church quickly grew to 34 people and could no longer meet in the basement of the home.
Then the decision was made to move to the Harrison County Middle School Cafeteria. So on August 19, 2007, Living Hope had their first service in the Harrison County Middle School Cafeteria. Three short weeks later on September 9, 2007 district officials came and officially set Living Hope in order as a district affiliated A/G Church. After meeting in this facility only nine short weeks and seeing the Lord bless, and watching the church continue to grow the decision was made to officially launch at Northside Elementary School on Oct. 28, 2007.
During this time we were searching for property to purchase to construct a new church. Little did we know at the time the Lord was leading us to a kind gentlemen that believed in our vision. We are now the proud owners of 10 beautiful acres.
Continued growth and and activities held throughout the week necessitated yet another move. We now have a more permanent, albeit temporary, location. Until our property is paid for and our new church constructed we are happy to conduct services at right downtown in a storefront on South Walnut Street.
